All the talk about the Dolphins wanting to keep Jason Taylor was just that, talk. Taylor was traded today to the Redskins for a 2nd round pick in 2009 and a 6th rounder in 2010. Taylor, who was the 2006 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, fell out of favor with the Dolphins after spending his off season on TV show "Dancing With the Stars" rather than taking part in team activities. The move could have something to do with the fact that starting defensive end Phillip Daniels sustained a season ending knee injury earlier today.
Fantasy Impact: The move makes Washington's defense a more viable fantasy option. Taylor, who has 117 career sacks, should net around 10 sacks this season. He has had 8.5 or more sacks in 9 of his 11 NFL seasons. Daniels career high is 9 sacks but he only had 2.5 last season.

When all is said and done, it's as good as the Dolphins were going to get for Taylor. The Daniels injury forced the Redskins to improve the NFC easts' worst pass rush. Especially in a division with 3 of the leugues top quarterbacks, in Eli Manning, Tony Romo, and Donavan McNabb. A win-win trade for this Dolphins fan.
