Week 3 picks

Falcons over Chiefs: The Falcons aren't as bad as people thought. Can't say the same for the Chiefs. If Thigpen starts for any extended period of time, the Chiefs go from bad to historically awful.

Bills over Raiders: The Raiders ran all over KC last weekend. It won't be as easy going across the country to play the upstart Bills. Trent Edwards looks like he could be the Bills long term answer at QB.

Pats over Dolphins: Even without Tom Brady, the Pats should cruise against the hapless and talentless Dolphins.

Titans over Texans: Is there a more underraterd coach in the NFL than Jeff Fisher? Even with QB issues and a lack of play makers on the outside, the Titans don't miss a beat. I am interested to see what Texans team shows up though. Are they the guys who got throttled by the Steelers or the team that climbed its way to respectability last season.

Bears over Bucs: The Bears lost a tough game last week. The defense is healthy and back to elite status. I'm taking a good Bear's D over a Brain Greise led offense.

Redskins over Cardinals: I like what the Cardinals have going on. Kurt Warner has been great and you can't double cover both Boldin and Fitzgerlad. So why am picking the Redskins? Just call it a hunch...and plus can the Cardinals really be 3-0?

Vikings over Panthers
: The Panthers are welcoming back Steve Smith and have won their first 2 in breathtaking fashion. I think the Vikings are desparete though. That desparation should carry them to a close win.

Broncos over Saints
: The Saints did not look like themselves last week in Washington. A road game to Denver does not invoke confidence in me. Jay Cutler is a superstar in the making and he should lightup the Saint's D.

49ers over Lions: The 49ers allowed 8 sacks and 30 points and still beat Seattle. Did you see Patrick Willis return that INT for a TD? He's a special player. Mike Martz will probably want to beat the Lions pretty bad considering the fired him. Williams and Calvin Johnson make the Lions tougher than you'd think but Kitna is a turnover waiting to happen.

Seahawks over Rams: The Seahawks traded for Keary Colbert and signed Koreen Robinson to help with their banged up WR corps. Their top 6 WR's have been injured! Did Mike Holmgren kick a baby or something? The Rams are bad enough that it shouldn't matter.

Eagles over Steelers: Good game. Roethisberger has a mysterious shoulder injury and that would worry me a little if I was a Steelers fan. The Eagles lost a heartbreaker on Monday night. I think they rebound.

Browns over Ravens: The Browns have to beat somebody right? I understand Derek Anderson had a good season last year, but to me he is clearly nothing more than a decent player. It's time for Brady Quinn. I'm interested to see how the Ravens come out this weekend. Beating Cincy isn't much of an achievement.

Giants over Bengals: Giants should cruise for the 3rd week in a row. Will the the real Carson Palmer please stand up?

Colts over Jags: I went against Peyton Manning last week and I'm not doing it again. Not many QB's could have won that game. Both of these teams have major injury issues. Bob Sanders joins the list of walking wounded for Indy. I'll say Colts at home.

Cowboys over Packers: I'm excited for this one. Dallas' offense looks unstoppable but their D played soft last week. This should be a high scoring game. The Pack are for real but the Cowboys will take this one.

Chargers over Jets: I think the Jets will be Jeckyl and Hyde all season. Even with LT banged up, Philip Rivers should be able to pull this one out.
