Brett Favre is headed out of Green Bay, but it's not down south as originally thought. Favre was traded to the Jets for a conditional 4th round draft pick. According to the NFL network, if Favre takes 50 percent of the snaps this season, the pick becomes a 3rd rounder. If he takes 70 percent of snaps and the Jets make the playoffs, it becomes a 2nd rounder. If he takes 80 percent of snaps and the Jets make the Super Bowl, it becomes a 1st rounder. Got all that? To make room for Favre, Chad Pennington will be released or traded.
Fantasy Impact: Favre won't have the weapons he had in Green Bay, but he could still be considered a low end # 1 QB by some. Personally, I would draft him as my back up. It's just to risky to count on Favre to play well week in and week out in a new system. Also, he has a tendency to force throws and that could lead to some 2-3 interception games. Coles is underrated and Cotchery is up and coming but there is not a whole lot of talent on the outside for the Jets. As far as Pennington, he will find a home somewhere but it will most likely be as a backup. He has no fantasy value.
