If the Bucs do end up with Brett Favre, Jeff Garcia would more than likely be asked to be traded. If that is the way this scenario plays out, where would Garcia likely end up? Well there are a couple of teams that would make sense. The Vikings are built to win now and could use a veteren QB to ensure a 10 win season. The Bears are a mess at QB and could be in the mix. But what about the 49ers? 49ers beat writer Matt Maiocco of The Press Democrat points out in his blog that there could be some interest from the 49ers in Garcia. Mike Nolan needs to win this season to save his job and Garcia may give him the best opportunity to do that.
Fantasy Impact: If Garcia is put into Mike Martz's system and can pick it up relatively quickly, he could put up some decent numbers this year. I think he would be more of a caretaker with the Vikings or Bears. Considering the lack of depth at QB, Garica is a safe play as a number 2 QB as long as he is starting.
